Biography

When I started this blog, I thought that I was going to help people understand photography. Instead, I have understood myself better. I hope you find something useful in my personal lessons.

If I could write in the third person, someone would probably tell you that Bryan Farley is an excellent photographer, a great educator who is very knowledgeable.

But that is not how I see myself, nor do I approach life in the third person.

Before each shoot, I am almost always nervous or anxious... not so much afraid, but overly stimulated. Capturing three dimensional moving life and putting it into two dimensional still images requires complete awareness.

It is a beautiful paradox. To capture a moment, I must live in the moment, and as soon as I capture the moment, I am living in the past.

But for the moment when everything comes together....
